hockey competition on monday...... 4.30......... CAN WATCH WORLD CUP FINALS!!!!!!

anyways...... real happy tt my hockey's improving...... I CAN FLICK PAST KEVIN!!! MUAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

also going back to rosyth to campaign (my term for persuading all those p6s to come to ri, see?)

will be saying (fine, only some) students frm my previous sch........ and the teachers! (not veri glad, but happy all the same)

ALSO, an opportunity to skip lessons!!!

YAY!

but then again, the time and date has not been settled yet........
(still holding out on the hope of skipping at LEAST 3 hours of sch ^^)
-innocent look- i mean like, who wants to NOT skip lessons? esp when
there is a thing called chinese out there..........

fine fine, im not predujiced towards chinese... but u cant blame me!
these last few days have been 11 pm affairs that leave me half dead
when i go to school the next day....... (other than world cup matches,
this is the sole reason why ive been so stressed and tired..... HOW
COULD GERMANY LET IN 2 GOALS IN 2 MINUTES????? 1 normal time, another
stoppage!!!!)

for example, becoz of the chinese open book test (we had to read a 175
page thick book (aka SIMPLIFIED san guo yan yi, for me lar) -gasps-
cant imagine the ADVANCED one....... and tts why most of the time was
spent on worrying on finishing all 175 pages....... -gasps- and had not
much time and attention to hv any fun or do anything else at all.....

in the end, i spent 4 straight hours yesterday (the test was -SURPRISE
SURPRISE!- today) to chiong the stupid book........ -applause please!-
after all, i survived on assorted chips of various shapes, sizes, hues
and colors and loads of coke =)

dead blog -revived-

whew........... hvnt posted for a LONG time....... but hey! u cant blame me! i mean, these last 2 weeks hv been eventful and although ive been slacking, soccer and hockey juz abt occupies the rest of my time so.......... =)

anw, hmmm........... where shall i start........... i noe!

lets start wif football!!!! i mean like, im damn happy coz u see, poor s'poreans hv to subscribe to starhub for a WHOPPING sum (according to my mum) to juz watch 64 matches........ and besides, not only are most of the matches AFTER bedtime, brazil is gonna win it again....... rite?

WRONG!

well, most of it anw..............

first, lemme let in on a little secret -how i manage to save on 15++++ bucks

u see, 6 yrs ago, when there wasnt such a thing called plasma or even LCD screens for poor ppl like me, me dad had to rely on his trusty old 19" CRT that was cooped up in his bedroom back then.... then, there ALSO wasnt a thing called SCV or cable......... so, a genius (im convinced he (or she) also wanted to cheat on his 15 bucks) invented this thing called an ANTENNEA!! now folks, this isnt your type of antenna that hangs around the top of your house, no......... the antenna IM TALKING abt is one that my dad chanced upon for $12 at NTUC (see, a saving of $3!!!) and so, this magnificent antenna was able to (surprise surprise) recieve RTM 1 and SCTV (both indoneasian channels -i think-) (ooh!!! ahhh!!!) and so i get to catch 58 matches LIVE on my 29" CRT (my new 42" one cant recieve...... it doesnt hv a 15 yr old cable slot for my 15 yr old antenna...... see.,..... new things r more HIGH-TECH NOW)

so....... i get to save $3....... yar sure, i mean, the reception definitely cant be compared to the set box frm starhub and like, yar no HD (poor CRT) and like YAR, indoneasians cant seem to get the idea of showing the time elasped on the left-hand side of the screen..... but hey! im not complaining!

now, abt my world cup adventure.......... o, and why brazil wunt win

2 reasons. i like dutch milk (esp. the strawberry one) and the czech will knock out brazil in the 2nd round so TOO BAD!!!!!

first of all, the dutch rock...... yar, i noe robben is a solo-kia but heck.......... they will win coz they hvnt yet (see the logic? huh? do you?) and not to mention that

brazil will see ronaldinho have a last minute teeth surgery so he misses the world cup
england will see rooney sent off coz he doesnt know how to behave
germany will hv micheal ballack go off form(not that he is actually in-form currently) coz hes wearing jersey no. 13
argentina will see lionel messi get injured (c'mon, hes only 19!)
czech will see pavel nedved and rosicky (who is better than nedved) sent off in the semis and injured by guess who? england (rooney rmr?)
the french will see cisse (right tibua) and henry (left tibua) and trezeguet (.....) injured (or well, broken legs)
portugal will see luis figo die of tirdness (hes real old -in my opinion-) and ronaldo sent off for baring his chest for all the females on earth to see (2 yellows = 1 red)

disclaimer - all this is real crap really, im juz crapping around

so, my dream final will be spain vs the dutch (milk)

unfortunately, coz raul will be playing, spain loses (real sad really, i like spain to.....) and the dutch (milk) wins!!!!

second, my trip to jurong

hrm...... well, the adventure began on a sunday and like, jian wei, wai choong and zydney and ME went ice skating

well naturally having NVR skated b4, i had more than a few qualms abt landing flat on my butt after skidding on ice...... and well, like, i admit, i kinda dreaded the ice-skating

CONTRASTINGLY

zydney here (someone who weighs more than me, in fact, most ppl weigh more than me) had taken skating lessons............... GASP............. he takes skating lessons???? imagine my shock........ it was as dumbfounding as seeing a cow roller blading......... im serious!

ok, fine............ not only will i embarrassed myself by landing flat on my butt, ill get my ass whipped by someone else in the process (who weighs more than me........)

certainly NOT GOOD...........

nvm, so i asked me dad, dad, did u ever go ice-skating b4? how do you ice-skate well without falling?

and well well well, my dad gives me his answer
-totally irrevelant to my question
-of absolute no help to help me skate better
-made me MORE nervous (hard to believe rite? WRONG...... my dad does that...always... call it his specialty)

"weeelllllll.......... (he like beating abt the bush or make u wrack your brains to decipher the true meaning) I DIIIIIID once skate before........ (heartbeat quickens)......... and wasnt TOOO BADD at it (heartbeat quickens....... did i mention my dad likes to boast once in awhile? i must've...)......... but then again.......... in my time ppl only iceskated with their girlfrens........... so........ yar............ u try not to fall"

welll, great advice.......... serious........... when i went to the ice-skating rink, almost everyone had a boyfren or girlfren accompanying them.......... and boy, or well, girl.......... did the girls know how to skate! (or well, at least a minority of them who i bet were skating professionally......) and well, the majority, well, they were spending more time clutching their boyfrens than skating

mental note to self - next time i get a girlfren, bring her to the rink ^*

lol..... juz joking....... laughs, rite?

ANYWAYS , did i also mention that the boys were falling very often too?

another mental note to self - next time u wanna get back at someone, practise ice-skating first, then when ure confident, bring the guy or girl to ice-skating and well, yar, THRASH HIM........ juz make sure he/she doesnt skate better than u first ^^

so well, yar, and then there were also 2 or 3 6-yr old girls who were skating smoothly (and fast) while i was reduced to a snail's crawl that eventually progressed into a doggie crawl to a......... old ah-ma walking COMPARED TO OTHERS (applause please........)

AND, i did it without falling......... HAH! BEAT THAT! (although there were 2 occasions that i almost did a split and as mr azlan says "furthur generations would be unlikely") but hey! i got out of it in one piece and even skated as fast as a dog trot for like 3 seconds b4 i put the breaks (always heed mr azlan)

I'm sorry

feeling really sad......... STILL CANNOT BELIEVE THAT WE GOT OWN-ED

to make matters worse, now the sec 4s dunt look at us eye to eye........ anw, for those un-initiated, here are the scores of the 6-a-side hockey tournie (-IMPORTANT- READ : U-15)

St. Andrews 5 - 0 RI
Sengkang 3 - 0 RI
East View 1 - 0 RI

so that meant that RI finished bottom of the group and with NO GOALS to their name........ when the announcer announced this result, i vividly remember some guy who went like "wah, RI ZERO points arh?" that left a sinking feeling in me.......... im still -frankly- in shock.......

i noe i should not give excuses...... even the coach (teacher in charge and coach) expected no miracles..... after all, we were sec 1s!

but i would like to pour out my grievances...... im still very much depressed at such a horrible tournament

firstly, we were sec 1s facing sec 2s....... not JUST sec 2s,

these sec 2s were
-more experienced
-physically stronger
-taller and bigger (scrawny old me is considered above average height build already)
-more BRUTAL (ill elaborate later)

AND, in each group, only the top 2 qualify....... now, some background info

first of all, st. andrews were traditional powerhouses AND, most of them have been playing hockey since p2 (adding up to about 6 YEARS of hockey background) while 7 out of the 11 man strong team from ri have been playing hockey for only 5 MONTHS??????? and thats omitting the fact that these 7 guys were then playing their FIRST EVER COMPETITIVE 6-a-side match???

next, sengkang......... according to clinton and if my memory serves me well, i think i remembered clinton saying something about last year's RI team losing out to sengkang even with a PRO PRO PRO dribbler like balu, eugene (DSA) and PRO PRO players like clinton and jing......... we frankly, were MUCH MUCH weaker than last year's team...... i mean, not critisizing, but the 2 DSA out-field players we have arent exactly DRIBBLING KINGS or sumthing.......

i have not much to say about East View, except that we shld've beat them although they had 6 sec 2s vs 6 sec 1 starters

However, despite saying all these, i blame myself for playing a part in these losses.......
in the first match, i did not back track, and thus leaving the right flank exposed at times, resulting in possibly 2 or 3 outta the 5 goals, and for this, im terribly sorry

in the second match, i felt that 1 of the goals could be attributed to me....... i had allowed the opposing winger to out-run me and set-up the first goal......... again, IM TRULY sorry

in the last match, i blame myself the most.......... even though we let in a soft goal due to Kevin's RARE mistake, i was unable to even the score when the opportunity presented itself. i sped past 2 sec 2s, but just could not bring the ball to bear and score from that tight angle

i dunno why, but i think im one of the only 2 who started ALL 3 matches (other than kevin, the goalie) and like....... i juz feel very regretful that i could have done better...... wait....... i always feel i could've done better..........

Freakin Tired

argh........ so damn freakin tired 2day and last nite........
hmm....... (and this time im not exxag. WC) we ran 2.4...... then we jogged approx. 1 km and sprinted 1 km........... and not to mention doing 200 crunches, 200 push-ups and 200 half squats that later turned into full squats........

SO FREAKIN TIRED!!!!!!!!!
even my dad complained lar...... he says that b4 hockey competitions, must rest or do some conditioning, NOT strain 1 WEEK BEFORE the competition........ and i agree.......

but then again, that gave me excuse to not do any work yesterday =) i was juz lying about, dozing and waking, drifting in and out of consciousness........ basically, SLACKING......

AND,

i also skipped NAPFA 2.4 for another day........... i complain to my friendly PE teacher that got competition on monday and tuesday (which isnt wholly true) and that we did 4.8 km (which also isnt true either) and 200 blah blah blah (WHICH IS DEFINITELY TRUE) and so like i get to opt out for thursday........... WOOT? i wonder......... if the coach is as strict or even stricter tmr (wednesday, or should i say, 1 day b4 thursday........)then die liao

anw....... hockey so roxs! =) all those who hvnt played it really misses out on loads man.... =P

Hockey teams

........ i really dunno how to react.........

today was the first day that i came back to school after a one week layoff..... and well, there was some hockey stuff to settle so...... im happy, or well, i should be happy, not that im not but..... -GAH- im getting myself confused......

but basically, here is how it played out

me the BIG IDIOT who didnt turn up for the hockey selection trials was going to school prepared for some disappointment or mebbe a fight for a place(EVEN A CHANCE WILL DO!) to represent ri playing hockey................. so i went

then in the morning, i go clock tower and then WHAM, jing and clinton were standing there and gave me a form for some tournie and i was like wth? why r u giving me for? i nvr go selection?

BUT DANG WAS I HAPPY!

i nvr went for selection still got into the div 3 league and SHF tournie (which will be mostly sec 2s, but hey! im not complaining) i was like THANKING MY LUCKY STARS lar! oh, and hell was i damn happy......... so my thoughts were like 2 down, 1 to go......

then i met dewin and like he was cursing me lar.........

i really dunno whether the competition was a good thing or not now... seriously, i dunt......

i got into the competition, but then i took the place instead of dewin.......... and now dewin is all hostile towards me in hockey...... sigh......... feeling very upset now...... one is my good fren in hockey, another is a competition i REALLY REALLY want to play in........ sigh............. GAH!

dewin is like really cursing or hitting me coz he says i nvr went for selection and i dunno whether he really means it when he says i sux or that i suck more than him........ it feels really bad lar....... he is a good fren, and he also wants that spot in the team but as there is only 1 slot, there cant be 2 ppl filling it.............. BLEAUGH

then there is the other matter........... 6-a-side tournie........... well, thats the crux, i still am QUITE in the dark...... according to the 2 hockey I/Cs, they were SUPPOSED to be picking a 10-man strong squad, so like it was supposed to mean that i was not suppposed to be included......... but then mr eric comes to blast away that frail reality by saying they were NOW picking 11 ppl....... i was like ok, ok, so wat..... not done yet, i was no. 12 rite? was i in?

so i went to ask him and he told me i would now replace number 11 (the coach ranked us by numbers, 1 being goalie, then 2 onwards the best and so on.....) and like i was no longer squad number 12 and was THUS in the team, regardless that i didnt go for selection.......

so that means, ill be effectively taking mike's place, who is ALSO an esp good fren of mine in hockey.......... sigh....... double-whammy...... i dunno how he'll react lar........ i really really dunno how man......... i can only hope that he wunt turn hostile against me.........

i juz dunno why.......... i mean, i must hv done quite well during hockey practise previously to have gotten into the 6-a-side without going for selection or the fact that i got selected for the 11-a-side.......... but i juz cant feel a bit guilty that im taking -to some, stealing- two of my esp good frens places in the team.......................

ok, ok, i admit, im a perfectionist......... everything has to be done in tip-top order...... and i assure u, its both a boon and a bane.......
