I'm sorry

feeling really sad......... STILL CANNOT BELIEVE THAT WE GOT OWN-ED

to make matters worse, now the sec 4s dunt look at us eye to eye........ anw, for those un-initiated, here are the scores of the 6-a-side hockey tournie (-IMPORTANT- READ : U-15)

St. Andrews 5 - 0 RI
Sengkang 3 - 0 RI
East View 1 - 0 RI

so that meant that RI finished bottom of the group and with NO GOALS to their name........ when the announcer announced this result, i vividly remember some guy who went like "wah, RI ZERO points arh?" that left a sinking feeling in me.......... im still -frankly- in shock.......

i noe i should not give excuses...... even the coach (teacher in charge and coach) expected no miracles..... after all, we were sec 1s!

but i would like to pour out my grievances...... im still very much depressed at such a horrible tournament

firstly, we were sec 1s facing sec 2s....... not JUST sec 2s,

these sec 2s were
-more experienced
-physically stronger
-taller and bigger (scrawny old me is considered above average height build already)
-more BRUTAL (ill elaborate later)

AND, in each group, only the top 2 qualify....... now, some background info

first of all, st. andrews were traditional powerhouses AND, most of them have been playing hockey since p2 (adding up to about 6 YEARS of hockey background) while 7 out of the 11 man strong team from ri have been playing hockey for only 5 MONTHS??????? and thats omitting the fact that these 7 guys were then playing their FIRST EVER COMPETITIVE 6-a-side match???

next, sengkang......... according to clinton and if my memory serves me well, i think i remembered clinton saying something about last year's RI team losing out to sengkang even with a PRO PRO PRO dribbler like balu, eugene (DSA) and PRO PRO players like clinton and jing......... we frankly, were MUCH MUCH weaker than last year's team...... i mean, not critisizing, but the 2 DSA out-field players we have arent exactly DRIBBLING KINGS or sumthing.......

i have not much to say about East View, except that we shld've beat them although they had 6 sec 2s vs 6 sec 1 starters

However, despite saying all these, i blame myself for playing a part in these losses.......
in the first match, i did not back track, and thus leaving the right flank exposed at times, resulting in possibly 2 or 3 outta the 5 goals, and for this, im terribly sorry

in the second match, i felt that 1 of the goals could be attributed to me....... i had allowed the opposing winger to out-run me and set-up the first goal......... again, IM TRULY sorry

in the last match, i blame myself the most.......... even though we let in a soft goal due to Kevin's RARE mistake, i was unable to even the score when the opportunity presented itself. i sped past 2 sec 2s, but just could not bring the ball to bear and score from that tight angle

i dunno why, but i think im one of the only 2 who started ALL 3 matches (other than kevin, the goalie) and like....... i juz feel very regretful that i could have done better...... wait....... i always feel i could've done better..........
